Brewed tea is almost as easy as instant and tastes sooo much better. For iced tea:

    * Bring four cups of cold water to a boil in a kettle or pan, then
immediately remove from heat.
    * Pour over 8 single-size Lipton teabags, or 4 Lipton and 4 Mandarin Orange teabags in a pot or teapot.
    * Allow teabags to steep no longer than four minutes, then remove from the tea.
    * Dissolve 8 tablespoons of sugar in the hot tea, and slowly add 4 cups of ice cold water to the sweetened tea.
    * If using Splenda, add the cold water first, then six tablespoons of Splenda.

You will appreciate the taste difference of the fresh-brewed tea, and so will your friends.

Note: When using a china teapot, gradually warm the teapot with warm, then hot water and let the pot adjust to the change in temperature before adding boiling water. Otherwise, the abrupt change from room temperature to boiling water may cause the teapot to *****.

It is very easy to make home made iced tea

the basic recipe
make hot tea like normal
most are two cup tea bags it would say on the box
so if you are making ten cups of tea it would take five tea bags and ten cups of boiling water

put the bags in a big bowl and pour the boiling water over it as you boil it

let it cool on its own once it is room temp take out the tea bags

the next part depends on your tastes

put in lemon juice fresh is best but you can use bottled

start with a couple of table spoons of lemon and white sugar
stir well inbetween keep adding a bit at a time until it is the way you like it.

If the tea taste is too strong just add some water.

do not add the flavors while it is hot
it changes tastes as it cools

to make raspberry iced tea
get welches frozen raspberry juice
even in the freezer it is not froze solid so do not thaw it open it and add a couple of tablespoons of the juice concentrate
the juice you do not use keep it in the freezer in an air tight container.

add the sugar you need

you can do the same but add peach juice or any other juice you like

you can make ice tea from black tea or grean tea or white tea

I have had herbal tea cold as well

the only thing to remember is to flavor them when they are cold

Once they are made you can keep them in a pitcher in the fridge or pour them into clean water bottles

to keep the bottles clean after use pour two table spoons of vinager in them and swirl it around to disinfect them.

sportea, it's out of colorado...it's UNREAL- has lemon, electrolytes, and a little ginger added- so it's a little bit sweet but not like traditional southern sweet tea (i have a hard time drinking soda bc it's so sweet and i love this)...give it a try! it's addicting...

Tazo teas are very good. My favorite is their Zen, it's a mix of green tea with lemongrass, lemon verbena, and spearmint, and tastes so refreshing!

I also love Republic of Teas. You can find them in most Barnes and Nobles stores as well as some specialty stores and some deli's. Expect to pay about $10 for a can of 50 tea bags, but you'll get what you pay for....lots of flavor! They have TONS of different flavors of teas, including (my favorite, Blackberry Sage) pomegranate, ginger peach, orange ginger mint, honey ginseng (another favorite), wildberry plum, and grapefruit, just to name a few flavors.

I make iced tea with the blackberry sage all the time, and let me tell you, a little goes a long way when it comes to the tea bags! I only need to use 2 bags for a pitcher of iced tea, and I get tons of flavor without going overboard.

You can also mix regular teas with flavored teas and make your own creations. If you don't want to shell out the money for the expensive brands, Lipton and Bigelow make decent flavored teas that you can mix and match for different flavors.

As long as you have fun making teas, you have a near endless list of summer drink possibilites.

I love to drink tea. I usually use Luzianne Tea. So good.
This is a very easy recipe. Boil water in a stock pot and steep two large bags of tea. Meanwhile, In large pitcher squeeze the juice of 6 lemons or 6 large lime, add 1 1/2 cups sugar & mix .Then add hot tea & mix. Then fill pitcher with water & stir. Adjust sugar to taste. Now to change it up a bit. I always use the same formula, but instead of using regular flavor tea bags, I buy the flavored teas. Like Raspberry Zinger, Vanilla Rose, Mint Greentea, Chamomile, Zesty Berry Lemon, etc. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
